iPhone 8 stop functioning

Guys, here is the problem. I have been using my iPhone 8 for like 3 months. And suddenly it stopped functioning.
People at the service centre said it was a water damage issue.
Weird thing is that I am 100% sure that it has never been dropped in the water.
Can anyone tell me what could be the problem?
