Locating Power Leak

What is the best way to locate a power leak, i have an iPhone 6 plus that is pulling a small number of amps when plugged into power supply with no battery through the charge port.
I changed the U2 IC on this one as it wasn't charging at all through the USB port or detecting.
Would i plug it in and check voltages around certain areas?
Would rosin smoking and injecting voltage work?
