Today we will share how to fix an iPhone X front camera and rear camera not working.
This is an iPhone X motherboard with camera issue. Run cosmetic inspection first. The board hasn’t been water damaged or dropped.

Let’s get the motherboard installed and test. Get a known good iPhone X back glass assembly. Get the motherboard well installed. Connect the power flex cable, the charging port flex cable, cameras, etc.. Then connect the earpiece speaker and sensor flex cable. Otherwise the screen will dim after booting up. Continue to get the digitizer cable connector and the OLED panel cable connector connected. Then get the battery connector connected. Press the power button to turn on the phone.

Therefore, we need to focus on the rear camera circuit. Take apart the phone and disconnect the battery. Remove the display assembly and take out the motherboard. Attach the motherboard to the PCB Holder. For better inspection, tear off sponge around connectors first.

Check the motherboard under the microscope. One component next to the power flex cable has fallen off the board. Our guess is that due to improper operation, the component was pried off when the power flex cable was disconnected by the unknown repairman. We can see that its bonding pad has also been pried off the board.

Open the bitmap. The missing component is inductor FL3903 which is the protective inductor on the 1V1 power supply line of the rear camera.

Since the bonding pad has also fallen off the board, we need to connect Pin 1 of FL3903 with Pin 1 of C3928 by jumping wire. Remove black adhesive around FL3903 and C3928 with tweezers. Clean with PCB Cleaner afterwards. For better operation when jumping wire, apply some solder paste to the bonding pad with Soldering Iron at 360℃.

Then apply some Paste Flux. Prepare a length of Enameled Copper Wire of 0.02mm in diameter. Jumping a wire between the two pins with Soldering Iron. Once done, cut off the excess wire with Sculpture Knife. Clean with PCB Cleaner afterwards. Apply some UV Curable Solder Mask to the wire for insulation protection. Then solidify the board under UV Dryer Lamp for 5 minutes.

Summary
The front camera and the rear camera of iPhone X can not be activated. What’s more, the flashlight also can not be activated. So we need to focus on the rear camera circuit. Check the motherboard under the microscope and we find that a component has fallen off the board. Since the bonding pad of the component has also fallen off the board, we can fix the problem by jumping a wire.
